Colchester Colts defeated by Mavericks

With only 17 players out of the whole Colts squad making themselves available for this challenging fixture, a mixed Colchester side struggled to impose themselves on a good Mavericks outfit who deservedly won the game. A 17-7 Mavericks half-time lead (Colchester try scored by full back Jack O'Sullivan and converted by scrum half Lewis Williams) was developed into a final score of 36-14 (second away try Williams); Colchester's cause not helped by two yellow cards - one very harsh and the second justified.
