Sunday 19th February

We have a match on Sunday. Be at the clubhouse by 11.30 for a 12.30 kickoff. 

Thursday 16th February

No training again due to condition of pitches. The planned match for Sunday 19th against Bury is cancelled as they have a cup game. We are trying to arrange an alternative match. Please watch the web-site for details.

Thursday 9th February

No training due to snow covered pitches. There was no planned match for Sunday 12th due to half term. We might have had training, however very unlikely due to the weather but keep an eye on the web-site.

Sunday 5th February

***** Game cancelled due to frozen pitches *****

Hopefully you all got the message that training was off on Thursday. We have a game against Brentwood at home on Sunday, we are asking all the boys to be there by 10.30 on Sunday changed and ready. The match will kick off at 12.15. There is a colts game at 11.00 so come along and support them. All of this assumes that the weathermen are wrong and we do not wake up on Sunday to find snow and hard pitches. Watch the site and check it out as we will try to let you know as soon as we do if the match is off. 

Sunday 29th January

We have a game against Chelmsford at home on Sunday,  we are asking all the boys to be there by 10.00 on Sunday changed and ready. The match against Chelmsford will kick off at 11.00. The ground will be busy as the Minis are at home. Please try to car share and park at Rapid.

Sunday 22nd January

We have a game against Stowmarket Colts on Sunday,  we are asking all the boys to attend at 10.00 on Sunday changed and ready. The match against Stowmarket will kick off at 11.00.

We are also on car parking duty so could helpers arrive by 09.30. Thanks. 

Sunday 15th January

We have a game against Braintree on Sunday, this is a combined U17/U18s match however if you are available please be at the Braintree Club (Directions) by 10.00 for a kick off at 11.00. If you need a lift please contact Bruce or Bill (Telephone numbers below) and this can be arranged. If you need a lift this will be leaving at around 09.30, however unless you tell us we will not be going to the clubhouse.

Sunday 8th January

We have a game against Shelford on Sunday,  we are asking all the boys to attend at 11.00 on Sunday changed and ready. The match against Shelford will kick off at 12.00. 

Thursday 5th january

Christmas & New year

Proposed Tour Information

We have been offered the chance of going on tour with the colts to Paris, France on 17th-19th February. Tour will include all travel by coach, two nights half board in a Sports Centre (like a hostel) two games against local opposition and a ticket to see Stade Francais V Toulon in the French league. Anticipated cost will be about £200 per person depending on numbers. We need a quick decision by the end of next week otherwise there will be no tour this year. Sunday 11th December

The final game of the pool round of our Eastern Counties Cup games will be at Wymondham this Sunday. You need to be at Wymondham Rugby Club, Tuttles Lane, Wymondham. NR18 0EN by 10.30. Directions Game starts at 12.00. If you need a lift we will be leaving from the club house at 09.00 prompt. Please let one of the coaches know if you need a lift. You should be wearing a jacket and tie and please bring with you photo id.

Sunday 4th December

We have an important cup game against Shelford on Sunday,  we are asking all the boys to attend at 09.30 on Sunday for some training and selection prior to the match with Shelford as we did last week. The match against Shelford will kick off at 11.30. You need to be aware that depending on numbers you may not be selected as part of the squad for the game on Sunday. As there are a number of boys with injuries it is essential that you let one of the coaches know if you are not available for Sunday’s match.

In addition the club will be very busy and we are on car parking duty so could I have a group of volunteers to help out arriving at 09.00. Thanks.

Thursday 24th & Sunday 27th November

There will be no organised training for the U17s this Thursday. This is due to the number of boys attending school and college events. If you do want to train you can join the colts and train with them.

As there is no training on Thursday we are asking all the boys to attend at 09.30 on Sunday for some training and selection prior to the match with Diss. The match against Diss will kick off at 12.30. The team to play will be selected on Sunday morning so it is essential that if you want to be able to play you make sure that you have completed an application form and paid your dues before this. You also need to be aware that depending on numbers you may not be selected as part of the squad for the game on Sunday. As there are a number of boys with injuries it is essential that you let one of the coaches know if you are not available for Sunday’s match.

Sunday 20th November

Training this weekend for all. Please be at the club by 9.30 ready to start training at 9.45. The club is going to be very busy so please park at Rapid and walk to the club.

Sunday 13th November

First of our Eastern Counties Cup games will be at Cambridge this Sunday. You need to be at Cambridge Rugby Club, Volac Park, Grantchester Road, Cambridge. CB3 9ED by 12.00. Directions. Game starts at 13.30. If you need a lift we will be leaving from the club house at 10.30 prompt. Please let one of the coaches know if you need a lift. You should be wearing a jacket and tie and please bring with you photo id.

Sunday 6th November

Training this weekend for all. Please be at the club by 10.45 ready to start training at 11.00. If you have not paid your subs please bring payment with you. Also a copy of photo ID so that we can build a file ready for the Cup matches. 

Reminder 2nd November

We have Eastern Counties Cup games coming up and only those players who have paid their subs and therefore been registered with the RFU will be eligible. Therefore if you have not paid please pay ASAP. In addition we will need photo ID on the day, therefore it might be better if you could remember to bring a copy of your passport, student card etc to training prior to the first game and the coaches will then make sure we have it on the day.

Sunday 30th October

Match at Dagenham this Sunday. You need to be at Dagenham Rugby Club, RM8  1AA by 10.00. Directions. Game starts at 11.00. If you need a lift we will be leaving from the club house at 8.30 prompt. Please let one of the coaches know if you need a lift. Do not forget the hour goes back so you get an extra hour in bed.

Sunday 23rd October

This weekend was kept as a training weekend so there were no games scheduled. We will have training for all at Colchester on Sunday. However as it is the final of the World Cup which starts at 09.00 we will start training as soon as the match finishes about 10.45. Do not forget that the game will be shown in the club and you can get a full English breakfast as well (not you boys just the parents).

Our first Eastern Counties match is on the 13th November and in the following four weeks we have the remaining three pool games. We therefore need everyone to come to training, even if injured, as we need to make sure the whole squad know the calls and tactics as it is going to be a fairly intensive period of cup games coming up.

Can I also remind everyone that we are thinking of going to Arras on tour on the May 2012 Bank Holiday and Bruce needs to know who can go to confirm numbers to the organisers.  

Sunday 16th October

Unfortunately Cambridge have cancelled so we have no match this week-end. There will however be training for all at Colchester on Sunday. Please be there by 9.45 ready to start training at 10.00. We have some very tough Eastern Counties matches coming up soon so we need all the training we can get for the whole squad.

Some of the squad have been asked to help the Colts in their National Cup game against Shelford at 11.00 so after training I know the Colts would welcome your support.

Match at Clacton this Sunday. You need to be at Clacton Rugby Club, CO5 6NA by 11.00. Directions. Game starts at 12.00. If you need a lift we will be leaving from the club house at 10.30 prompt. Please let one of the coaches know if you need a lift as there are no coaches leaving from Colchester and we are dependant on the generosity of other parents.

Sunday 2nd October

Unfortunately Dagenham have called off their fixture for Sunday and the alternative team we found have also withdrawn. Therefore we will have a free day and there will be no match or training this Sunday. Lets see more of you at training next Thursday.

Sunday 25th September

Touchline Suffolk Sevens at Royal Hospital school. We have entered two teams. You need to be at the school by 08.45 for registration. First game starts at 09.50, please do not be late. If you need a lift we will be leaving from the club house at 08.00. It would help if you could let one of the coaches know if you need a lift.

 We only just have enough players so you owe it to your team mates to turn up or let one of the coaches know if you can not make it.

 It will be a long day, finals should be finished by 17.00. There will be burgers and barbecue but bring your own food and drinks.

 The weather looks great so see you all there for a fantastic day of Rugby.
