In a close fought encounter the exiles finish with a flourish
A relatively dry Tuesday night saw Colchester A's take on the U21's & Uni Exiles with a big turnout for both teams it was a real contest between both pacey backs and bulky forwards.
The first half started with the A's camped on the opposition's try line using the bulk and brains to keep the Uni side pinned down. A few breaks from the U21's cleared the pressure but with no go-forward from their scums they couldn't score any points
5 minutes into the second half the A's powered over the line with continually picking and going. The Uni side forced over the line with a great break from Francois Roussouw who finished under the posts. Clearly forgetting about when he got stepped into his own player... The kick was converted and the scores were 5-7. After a similar second half to the previous with breaks being unconverted into points by both sides the last kick of the game saw the Uni side bravely running through the lines with the St. Joseph's boys linking well and James Pattis diving over the line.
A great game watched by many, and enjoyed by all. The beers and food after the game went down a charm and we look forward to the next games with the U21's when they return from Uni!
