Colchester Colts travelled to their counterparts at Saffron Walden for their third Eastern Counties Cup fixture and emerged victorious after an extremely competitive and close game. Winger Ollie Eves was the only scorer in the first half (5-0) before early in the second period the home side closed the line twice to earn themselves a 12-5 lead. Showing terrific spirit, Colchester responded and scored the decisive points with tries from centre Tom Coates and full-back Luke Williams (both converted by fly-half Sam Borges).
