Colchester made the long journey to West Norfolk in their latest Eastern Counties Cup game and emerged victorious after being made to work hard by their game opponents.
An early score and stand out performances from forwards Tom Winwright and Henry Hayes-Burt set the platform for a more than competent display in which away side enjoyed more than their fair share of territory and possession. The Colchester try scorers were Jack O'Sullivan, Connor Alkin, Jamie Murray (twice), Troy Palmer and Owen Cowley; but it was the overall team performance that made the result possible.
Coaches Dean Tully and Steve Wright were proud of the squad saying: "This was a very good result after a long journey; the lads aquitted themselves very well and deserved their reward. With a number of players stepping up and taking advantage of their playing opportunities, pressure for places will increase as the season progresses".
