Many thanks must go to the team at the Royal Hospital School at Ipswich for allowing the use of its facilities after Hadleigh were unable to host the fixture due to the unplayable nature of their pitches.
This latest LV Cup game was a well contested game which occasionally boiled over into fracas that tested the patience of the coaching teams and referee alike. Colchester started the brighter and showed much better enthusiasm at the breakdown and in the loose throughout the game. With Colchester centres Dan Harding and Francois Rossouw causing Haleigh constant problems, the away side were able to create opportunities to earn themselves a well deserved and hard fought victory. Colchester's try scorers were James Simpson, Fawaz Olabooye, Francois Rossouw and Gareth Sanders-Crook.
Coaches Steve Wright and Dean Tully were enthusiastic about the performance saying: "A good display showing our One Team mentality. We must continue to develop and progress our team play as the season progresses whilst maintaining our discipline in key areas".
