Only one game was played at Mill Road today following last weeks four home games, Rocky welcomed the break at the bar although a crowd of 100+ turned up to see the Ravens do battle with Mistley.
The dull chilly start to the morning cleared to leave blue skies and glorious sunshine for the game. Mistley turned up with a large pack and a back line to match. This was the first time Colchester Ravens had faced 1st XV opposition in the league and the hope was for more of a contest to test the team.
From the kick off Colchester stamped their mark on the game with passing the ball wide and attacking with their back line, dominating most scrums whether it was a Colchester put in or not it was clear Colchester meant business scoring a flurry of tries they went into half time 39-0 up.
After half time Mistley came out and gave it their all but Colchesters fitness showed and they scored try after try, despite having a player sin binned. Mistley had a handful of possession and managed to kick a penalty. Colchester finished with a try on the final whistle which seemed premature with the final score at 94-3.
