With the 1st XV's rescheduled game against Bracknell and the start of the Six Nations there's plenty of rugby on offer this weekend at CRFC...

1st XV set to complete #JustWinJan (..in February!)

After the game had to be called off last weekend due to Bracknell's ground being waterlogged in the aftermath of Storm Gertrude the time has come around for the 1st XV brush their boots off and get stuck back in. The boys travel to Maidenhead RFC to take advantage of their superb 4G pitch, in what is set to be another exciting close game. The game will still kick off at 2.15pm and as always we'll keep you in the loop on Twitter and snapchat: colchesterrugby #ComeOnCol!

The Cavaliers travel to the University of Essex this weekend. When we hosted the uni boys last year the Cavs stormed to a win, putting 60 points on the visitors. Can they repeat the same kind of performance this weekend? We reckon so. If you're going to watch the game it all kicks off at 2.30pm.

The Roundheads have an exciting fixture this Saturday as they play Mistley RFC at home, kicking off at 2pm. There's plenty of veteran Col players (e.g. Morph who's played a record 1,000 games for Col!) in there so it's always a spectacle of great rugby and with no other home games we really recommend you come to Mill Road to watch- you'll be so glad you did!

The Ravens and A XV both have a well deserved rest weekend.

As always we will be live tweeting the 1st XV game and all the highlights will be on our club snapchat: colchesterrugby For those who can’t make it to the games this weekend why not tweet your encouragement to our players by using #ComeOnCol Every bit of support helps!

Youth on Sunday

We're all over the place this week with youth games taking place across 3 local venues. The Colts are playing Hadleigh at The Royal Hospital School at 12pm in the next round of the LV Cup. The U15 Bs also take on Hadleigh but at Mill Road, kicking off at 11am, along with the U15 Cs playing Braintree at home at the same time. The U14 Bs are also playing Hadleigh at home kicking off slightly later at 12pm. Both U13 teams are playing at the Gilberd School as the As take on Braintree at 11.30 and Bs play Hadleigh at 10.30am. All other games are being played away so head to the website for details.

The U15 As have a special late night match this evening (Friday 5th Feb) as they take on Southend at 7.30pm. It's a great atmosphere under the floodlights so come and join us at Mill Road tonight!

Six Nations at Colchester RFC

As always here at Colchester RFC we'll be showing all of the Six Nations games on our big screens up at the club starting with France vs Italy on 6th of Feb at 2.25pm and most importantly the Scotland vs England game at 4.50pm. Whilst you're up at Mill Road why not try our brand new bitter made especially for us by our friends at Colchester Brewery. 'Ravens' was a massive hit with the club regulars last weekend so make sure you head on over and give it a try!

Throwback Thursday

This week's Throwback Thursday captured club favourite Roger Rendall in an unfamiliar position.. about to pass the ball! To read more about 1st XV Captain Roger head to our website here.

Don't forget if you've got any photos from days gone by we'd love to see them! Send them here and if we use one for our Throwback Thursday we'll send some CRFC goodies your way.

Bold new Blazers at CRFC

You would have done well to miss the brand new club blazers waltzing around at the last home game, expertly modelled by club regulars John Powell, Jim Crowley, Bill Anslow and Len Nieuwenhuis. If you'd like to join the colourful clan and get your own exclusive CRFC blazer then you can find all the details on our website here.

90th Anniversary Dinner

There are limited places left at our 90th Anniversary Dinner at the Moot Hall in Colchester on the 26th of February. If you'd like to join us for a 3 course dinner and be in the company of guest speakers actor Griff Rhys Jones and Paralympian Danny Crates, then book your place now. We're looking forward to hosting a lovely evening of great food, greater drink and even greater company to celebrate 90 years of the best rugby club around. All information on how to book your place is here.

Colchester RFC in Partnership with St Helena Hospice

We've joined together with local charity St Helena Hospice to help them raise money through rugby and we need YOU to help us. Introducing Man Trek; a 7 mile walk with a beer and an international rugby match at the finish line, worth it right?

Starting and finishing at Colchester RFC you'll walk around Colchester and return just in time for the England vs Ireland Six Nations game. All the money raised will go towards helping St Helena Hospice continue with all the great work their doing.

All the details on how to get involved can be found here.

Here at CRFC we've got a wealth of online outlets filled with great content, so make sure you check out our website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube and Snapchat: colchesterrugby.

Good luck to all our players this weekend and we hope to see you at Mill Road soon.
