New England coach Eddie Jones might want to join us this weekend as our home grown talented lads are set for another brilliant weekend of rugby...

Double Home Header against Shelford tomorrow

The 1st XV look to learn from their tough encounter with Westcombe Park as they gear up to face Shelford at home this weekend. After rigorous training sessions our boys are ready to bounce back and we need you there to show your support. Rally around our players in time for kick off at 3pm. However if you're unable to make the game we'll be live tweeting from @ColchesterRFC and highlights from the match will be on our snapchat: colchesterrugby

The Ravens are also at home against Shelford on Saturday and can go into the game confident after a brilliant victory over Westcombe Park last weekend. The 2nd XV are continuing to storm their way up the tough new Zoo League so head over to pitch 2 at 2.30pm for what's guaranteed to be a great display of rugby.

After an almighty victory over Harwich & Dovercourt last Saturday the A XV remain the only unbeaten team in their league, despite it being their first season competing at such a high level. This weekend they hope to continue their winning streak as they prepare to face Ipswich Magpies away. If you're travelling to watch the game, it all kicks off at 2.30pm.

The 4th XV Cavaliers & 5th XV Roundheads are both taking a well deserved break this weekend.

For those who can’t make it to the games this weekend why not tweet your encouragement to our players by using #ComeOnCol Every bit of support helps!

A fiver or two..

Please remember that all visitors to Mill Road who come to watch the 1st XV game are asked to pay £5 if you're not a club member or £2 if you are a member for our new bumper 16 page programme (U16s excluded). This goes to help meet our increased costs, details of which will be included in future issues. Please help volunteers at the gate with the right money. Many thanks.

Saturday's Match Sponsors

We have three 1st XV match Sponsors this weekend. SRC Aggregates is one of our new sponsors this season and is an independent, family owned business providing a number of top quality aggregate solutions, as well as quarry and agricultural reservoir planning and development. Landguard Engineering provides high quality fabrication and installation of steelwork and has wide industry knowledge of structural steelwork, offshore works and all types of welding. Dyfed Steels Ltd is the largest independent steel stockholder and processor in Wales and the South of England.

Youth on Sunday

The Colts come up against Westcliff in the LV Cup this Sunday at home. With an 100% win record this month the Colts are raring to go and would love your support this weekend, so head down to Mill Rd ready for the kick off at 12.30pm.

The Colts Development are also in action this weekend as they face Stowmarket at home. This kicks off earlier at 11am.

The U16 A & B teams both play Brentwood sides at home on Sunday. The As kick off first at 10.30am and the Bs kick off slightly later at 11.45am. The rest of the Youth section are either playing away or have coaching, details of which can be found on our website.

Good luck to all our Colts, Youth & Mini players in action this weekend!

MENSA or denser? CRFC Quiz Night is back...

On Friday 27th of November Colchester RFC will be hosting its annual Quiz Night- so get revising! Entry is £5 per head and includes a curry dinner, teams can be up to 6 people. The bar will be open from 7pm ready for the quiz to get underway at 7.30pm. Please email Maggie now to book your team in.

Player Profiles: Dan Brennan

We watch them play every weekend and now we can learn a little more about our players; starting off with 1st XV Hooker Dan Brennan.

Dan has been riddled with injuries but now he's back to full health he can't wait to face the new challenges competing in a higher league brings.

Having last scored a try in the 1st game of the season against Gravesend, Dan is no match for the tough new opponents and is relishing the "faster pace" and "harder games" that National League 3 is bringing.

The full Player Profile and many other features, including Throwback Thursday can be found on our website and a wealth of other online outlets: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat: colchesterrugby
