Your weekend round up from CRFC ..

Colchester's 1st XV get back to work as they play Guildford ...

It' an away game for 1st XV this Saturday

Colchester 1st XV are off to Guildford for their match this Saturday. Guildford are a strong opposition but currently sitting 3 places above Colchester RFC so it has potential to be a cracking encounter. Colchester RFC will be looking to see the season out of a high note. If you are travelling there kick off is at 3PM.

"With how the season has gone it's important that the lads don't loss faith and enjoy what few games we have left. Training has been positive this week and we have stuck with the lads who gave so much against Wimbledon. That performance they put in was fantastic considering the size difference up front. We aren't blessed with giants but the heart the lads have shown not only in that game but throughout the season is overwhelming. We will once again go out and do our best to make the club proud of our team." Lee Soper, forwards coach.

"Carrying on from our last game against Wimbledon we have wanted to keep the momentum going, this lead to a big turn out Tuesday and Thursday with an eagerness to get things right. The atmosphere at training is very positive and we are very focused on beating this Guildford side!"
Harry Barton.

Can't make it to the game? Not to worry, we'll be live tweeting and snapchatting the action, so make sure you follow us on Twitter @ColchesterRFC and snapchat: colchesterrugby Why not send our players some support using #ComeOnCol

Due to the opposition and sides unable to get a full team the rest of the senior players get to enjoy the weekend off and enjoy the weather.

Our CRFC U15 Girls play in the Bowl Final this Sunday...

The final was postponed from Sunday 5th March and we have received confirmation that the bowl final is now at home at Sudbury on Sunday 26th kicking off at 1pm.

A little reminder; A huge well done to all the girls who travelled to Tunbridge Wells on Sunday 12th February for the U15s semi final! The combined Colchester/Sudbury team battled it through against some tough sides, but Tunbridge Wells gave us a helping hand as they initially could not field a full team, therefore was looking like they were going to have to forfeit the match!
The girls eager to play agreed to play 12 a side and fought through the mud to a very close score on 50 minutes, and were just 18-10 down with 5 minutes to go, but the Tunbridge Wells flyers made 2 decisive breaks as the girls were tiring, and finished the day 32-10 in front.

If you fancy joining our girls team train every Wednesday 7pm - 8:15pm.

Throwback Thursday

More trophies being lifted?!
After England lifted the trophy for the Six nations on Saturday we look back to not so long ago when Colchester lifted the Suffolk Chadacre Cup!

1995 was the year when big news such as Erik Cantona fly kicked a Crystal Palace fan and more importantly the Queen's Mother had successful hip operation!

Captain Acland rides tall on who though? Before we posted this the police asked us to identify the hooligans in this photo, so please let us know who you recognise and we will pass it on to the police...!

Thanks to everyone who has submitted throwbacks- please keep them coming here!
