In light of the recent announcement from the UK Government, your Executive Committee wishes to reiterate Colchester RFC's stance on the proposals

We would like to touch base with you on the potential club re-location to the Northern Sports Hub across the A12.

Negotiations have been ongoing for many years and it is fair to say this has been a very long process. This is finally moving forward at a pace with the council pushing for the Northern Sports Hub to be up and running by Sept ’19. Please be assured that CRFC is standing firm on ensuring that our core requirements (set out back in 2013) are attained and are under no obligation to relocate should these requirements not be met.

As of today, we do not have an offer on the table that is acceptable to your Exec Committee with a key concern being the extent of the parking spaces being proposed. Many questions have been asked of Colchester Borough Council over the past months and some remain unanswered. We are hopeful that the Council and their design team will provide answers to our queries, which includes a suitable parking solution, soon. Following receipt of this information and updated architect's plans your Exec Committee will provide a Q&A paper which we hope will answer many of our members' queries. We will also welcome your questions prior to calling an EGM to discuss and decide on the move.

Please be assured that no decision has been made to move our club to the proposed new location. As your Executive Committee, our view is that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity with the potential for CRFC to have an exceptional new facility as our home for years to come. There are still a lot of bridges to cross though!

Please keep an eye on our website for further announcements.
