Colchester played Wymondham in the final of the LV plate competition at Hitchin. Wymondham started strongly playing to their strengths with a strong set of forwards who had the upper hand in the scrum and some excellent mauling and rucking and turned over many Colchester balls. Colchester were again slow out of the blocks and Wymondham kicked the first penalty leading 3 - 0. Eventually Colchester were able to send the ball wide allowing their back three to show their pace; all four tries were scored by the wings or fullback. The first try was scored by fullback Josh Attwood then two from winger Josh Harvey and one from the other wing Reuben Shepherd.
