Our lead physio Pip is on the lookout for an additional physiotherapist to join the team at CRFC

Colchester Rugby Club is looking to recruit one or more qualified physiotherapist(s)or sports therapist(s) in time for the start of the 2018 season.

The part-time role involves working within a clinic setting on a training night, alongside another physiotherapist and being the pitchside medical cover for game days. You will join a team of physiotherapists working on a rotational basis between the 1st XV and 2nd XV. There will also be potential work with our 3rd XV and the Colts team.

The role involves an opportunity to gain experience working within an acute sporting setting alongside a club who has an exciting prospect for promotion next season. The successful applicant will need a keen interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and ideally, have previous knowledge of common rugby or contact sports injuries.

Training evenings consist of a two-hour clinic (6:30 - 8:30) at the club, with food provided after. The successful candidate will be expected to commit on a weekly basis to either a Tuesday and Thursday clinic and an average of two games per month (home or away).

Person specification:

Degree qualification in Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy (essential).

Physiotherapists will need to be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (or relevant professional body with professional indemnity insurance)

Pitch Side First Aid qualification
(or enrollment in course the before the start of the season).

To independently manage invoices and income on a self employed basis.

Ability to work autonomously and within a team.

Excellent communication skills, able to relay pertinent information to the players, coaching staff and physio team.

Sound clinical reasoning and decision making, particularly with regard to acute injuries.

Record keeping in line with professional standards.

Ability to assess, diagnose and treat a range of MSK conditions.

Experience of manual therapy and common taping techniques.
