Following the club's extraordinarily successful season, more icing was added as the Colts won final of the Eastern Counties Cup, under Bury's lights

Colchester 43 Bury St Edmunds 21

Colchester colts have struggled to reach their potential in the last 2 weeks, however they got their Mojo back for the final of the Eastern Counties Cup. Putting in a superb first half of rugby showing power and control from their forwards and speed, great lines of running and flare from their backs. Elliot Cryne settled the nerves with a Penalty after 3 minutes, shortly followed by a fantastic driving maul finished off with a try by Dan Hexley and converted by Cryne. Colchester forwards then powered over the line twice more with tries by Ben May and Ollie Prescott-Frost and converted by Cryne. This was followed by a fine try from Reuben Shepherd with backs and forwards linking well. Colchester then had a player sent to bin and Bury rallied at exerted significant pressure resulting in a converted just before half time, making the half time score 31 – 7.

The second half started with a try from Ed Parry and converted by Cryne, and a further try came from Harry Lee-Allan. However Bury showed their class and put Colchester under severe pressure and scoring two converted tries. It was a great advert for Rugby keenly contest by two good sides, and was just reward for the Colchester players many who have now played their last colts rugby, for their hard work and commitment. Big thanks must also to the gifted Coaching team for the their commitment and effort to get the most from the colts squad.
