Due to league alternations the play off has been cancelled.. for now.

The A XV's play off against Bury St Edmunds III has been cancelled due to a league shuffle, however their promotion is not yet guaranteed.

The reason for this is Mersea have asked to pull out of EC1; this has been granted and will now play in EC2 south in 2016/17 season.

Because of the void this leaves there is a chance that there will be 3x places in EC1. This is based on the outcome of the 2nd place playoff between Wymondham(EC1) and Ilford (Essex1) if Wymondham win the playoff this Saturday, then Colchester 3’s Bury 3’s and Yarmouth Broadlands will all be promoted into EC1.

If Ilford win the fixture, there Harwich & Dovercourt are invited to compete for a place in EC 1 as out of the filter leagues they had the next highest score. This means Colchester A XV will play Harwich at Mill Road on the 7th of May and Bury will play Yarmouth at Bury, the winners of these 2 games will then be promoted.

To that end the playoff for this weekend at CRFC is cancelled pending the outcome of the Wymondham fixture.

So we have to wait and see. We'll keep you posted when we know the outcome.
